About Decker Rd. Seeds

Decker Rd. Seeds originally began as a ‘hobby’, and has slowly grown into something more. From the beginning, they offered a very small number of flower, herb, and veggie seeds, Now they specialize in a larger variety of individual flower and herb varieties, as well as a bunch of different wildflower mixes for all planting scenarios. And of course don’t forget their hugely popular ‘seed kits’ – these take the guesswork out of what & how to plant. Over the years, they’ve gradually reduced their vegetable seed selection (in favor of more flower/wildflower seeds), but still offer some select greens and lettuce mixes. It’s too hard to compete with the large stores who can sell cucumber seeds for $1.50! They typically lean towards low-maintenance, drought-tolerant varieties, and we love their pollinator-friendly plants (think hyssop, bee balm, lavender, etc.). They, like us, like native plants, long-blooming varieties, and sun lovers. And low-maintenance lawn alternatives! Some of the seeds are grown in Phlomath (Oregon), others are grown and harvested from a handful of farms in the Willamette Valley. And some of the ‘high desert’ varieties are harvested in Colorado. All have become favorites, but it’s tough to beat a field of ‘Seashells’ Cosmos all in bloom.
